After the success of Destroy M-n-m+l, I’ve thrown together another mix but this time it’s House. Used quite a few commercial tracks in the style of Swedish House Mafia to aim towards a different audience and using it as a Demo. One of my best live mixes yet with heavy use of EFX and perfect harmonic mixing. BPM transforms from 125 to 128 showing a range of tracks building up into a Solid Conclusion. Clattering Hi-hats, Latin drums, Synthetic Melodies and Vocals dominate this Hour of House Bombs!

Loading … Although too many cooks might have, too many big tracks definitely did not spoil this broth of cascading explosions, Hypnotic and entrancing melodies with chunky basslines and high frequency 808s which escolates into deep house and rhythmic filth.

I ignored all classic structure of mixing keys and end to end mixing to cram as many tracks into the time as possible. The result being a mix that never loses its energy or dynamism. The use of an Pioneer EFX allowed me to completely alter tracks such as Cylo or I like that and smooth out breaks into a haze. The Mix floats about some big tracks in first half before driving towards an Epic dirty conclusion ending with a Monumental Piano Drop from Mind Electric.
Connected decks to computer again today to record a practice mix. Fairly known music as far as electronic goes. Tried to fit as many songs as i could into 1 hour which was quite difficult as far as mixing goes but i only ran into trouble once or twice.
It goes from minimal —> Light Electro –> Dirty —> Heavy/Grimey Electro—-> Commercial.
Radiohead have given all the stems for their song Nude in order for different producers to remix in a competition. For those who don’t know a stem is where you have several mp3s each with either Guitar Riff, bassline, a capella voices on which allows you to remix it with other sounds. Radiohead were charging for these stems i think but i managed to find a torrent with them on. I gave a quick go at remixing this song with a minimal track. Didnt put that much effort because song is tranquil and not much you can do with it.
Was practicing on Acid Pro using fear and loathing samples. Thought id make a trippy west song. Im going to admit its well sketchy and havnt spent much time making it any better but im sure itll sound better if yur monged. So here you are testard as i promised haha:
Not really sure why i called it this just first thing that came to my head.
Samples: Fear and Loathing, Boxcutter, Alice (Drop The Lime Remix) - Moby. I sliced up the female vocals and it just sounds under. The back song is from boxcutter which is weird anyway and just added loops efx vocals and things into and over it. Still need to sort out sound levels and sort out the end.
Connected my Decks up to computer and created a quite sketchy but i think quite good remix of Armand Van Helden “You Don’t Know Me” with “Worry About It Later [Switch Remix]” by the Futureheads.
Ive been using Ableton Live 6.0.9 and Acid Pro 6. I edited the switch song using acid pro and ableton and then replayed it on my decks and used efx box etc and stuff over it.
Short Electro Mix - That DJ - This is the song above mixed live into a decent remix of Song 4 Mutya by T.V Rock. Worth a listen.
This is my amazing Studio…………………
Im hoping to release a mix and have been recording sound clips out of the Movie “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” which i want to use in the mix. Not sure if going to do a fidget house or electronic mix with it though. Or prob more suited to the film, some trippy melting wonky electro
