(+ Two Extras)
Ye Ye – Daphini
A skuttering 4/4 rhythm layered with dirty techno chords and snapping 808 drums, punctuated by and urgent headspace vocals
Sicko Cell – Unknown Artist
Stripped 808 patterns, phased bassline, demonically pitched down vocal sample with house inspired chords ringing out in the background.
Deep Inside (Pearson Sound Refix) – Hardive
Percussive arrangement nodding back to the 90s Chicago juke, cowbells resonating in vacant spaces with a vocal sample relooping in a hypnotising repetition.
Warehouse – Boddika
Techno fused stab sequencing
You Gotta Do You – Xxxy
Spluttering ticks and crushed subs
Silhouette – George Fitzgerald
Carvernous Deep Bass Space
Look At The Stars – SBTRKT
Getting Me Down – Blawan
Jels – Joy O
Enjoying a week at home and catching up on some downloading. So here
i thought i would collect together some of the best remixes of the last few weeks.
Top 3 are Essential Downloads:
Control (Koen Groeneveld Remix) – Dataworx
This remix pushes the original to impossible new heights.
555 (Popof Remix) – Steve Angello And Sebastian Ingrosso
Just what you would expect of a fusion of Popofs tech into the swedish house style.
Check out Popofs Neo-trance remix too.
Done & Dusted (Instrumental Mix) – Mark Knight & Funkagenda
Deep tech which Samples Armand Van heldens – you dont know me
Neo Violence (Laidback Luke Remix) – The Tough Alliance
Is this a beginning of a new tech style for Laidback?
The Sting (Micky Slim Remix) – Brothers Bud
Posted the original a few months ago. Micky gives it a busy electro retake.
Keep On Truckin (Micky Slim Remix) – Mighty Dub Katz
Dark Rolling electro
Holding The Moth (Audiojack Remix) – Underworld
Dark trippy vocal techno
See Me – Herve
Remix of The Who’s See Me, Feel Me
After a messy week ive only just got around to setting up internet at Uni so havnt posted anythin in a while. Not really been downloadin either so here are a few old tracks ive been playin recently.
My House (David Tort Remix) – DJ Simi & DJ Marotta
This track is The Shit
Otherwize Then (Laidback Luke Remix) – Steve Angello & Laidback Luke
Laidbacks tweak on this solid club track
Junior Senior – Move Your Feet (Tocadisco Unreleased Bootleg Mi x)
I Like this but a bit dubious that its Tocadisco’s track. Good samples and scratching. Breakbeat Style
Chocolate Puma – Sexy Girl (Funkerman Remix)
4/4 irregular drum beats define the breakbeat genre and apparently characterised by their intensive use of syncopation and polyrhythms…………..what ever i love breakbeat. Krafty Kuts, Plump DJs and Stanton Warriors definetly hold up the genre for me.
One More Time (Krafty Kuts Remix) – Daft Punk
Never gets old. Da Funk (Krafty Remix) is on B-Side
Plump DJs – Doppler
Doppler has a driving techy feel to it that works itself into a slightly glitch inspired breakdown but then simply tears the roof off once it drops.
Booty Pit (Deekline and Red Polo Remix) – Wu-Tang Clan
Royksopp- What Else Is There (Breaks Mix)
Love the Thin White Dukes remix, an all time favourite.
Mini Mix – DJ Zinc (5mins)
This minimix got me into drum&bass really. still listen to it alot. Crammed with D&B + Garage Classics.
Brothers Bud tracks have found refuge in Having found a home in the boxes of the Plump DJs, Dreadzone, Rennie Pilgrem, Kid Kenobi and Ali B and as a result have been signed onto the
Finger Lickin label.
The Sting (Original Mix) – Brothers Bud
Fusion of Breakbeat, Dirty Ripping Electro with Dlectronica squeaks and bleeps thrown into the mix.
Remedy (original mix) – Brothers Bud
Similar style of breakbeat fusion similar to Plumps Djs stuff. Sickk Tracks though
So in my opinion we should go to Area51 this friday and not the Hacienda night at Sankeys………….
Who Are The Warriors (Bass Kleph Remix) – Stanton Warriors
Coup d'etat (Hook n Sling Remix) – Bass Kleph
